Abstract

As a source of fuel for ship propulsion, diesel is the main fuel that has been used in diesel engines on ships where its existence is increasingly limited. Meanwhile, natural gas reserves in Indonesia are still relatively large when compared to fossil fuels. For this reason, in this study, we try to discuss the economic analysis of the use of diesel as the main fuel and the combination of diesel with LNG (Liqufied Natural Gas) Dual Fuel on ferries in Indonesia. Where the results of this analysis can be used as a comparison of both energy utilization, if viewed from the economic side of its use. Replacing diesel with duel fuel LNG can save 74.54% of fuel costs for 12 hours of ferry operation.
